Current Location: Gallery > 2006 > July 2nd: Somesay Island Railway

The Somesay Island Railway's first steam day co-incided with one of the hottest days of the summer, and most visitors were happy to sit and convert drink to steam, rather than to raise steam. Nonetheless, a number of visitors were able to prove that the line can now accept "Roundhouse" size locomotives, and that it can prove an interesting challenge to steam or battery operators. Thanks to those who attended, raising another £40 towards Marie Curie Cancer Care.
