April 30th 2007:
Excelsior (Kerr Stuart built 1908), is towed out of the shed and it's fire is lit.
Superior (Kerr Stuart built 1920), remains in the shed having repairs carried out to the piston rod to cross-head joint.
Excelsior takes the now repaired Superior to the coal siding.
Having left Superior at the station to raise steam, Excelsior couples up to the train.
The first passenger train of the day.
With steam up, Superior backs onto the train.
Superior prepares to pull the train, using Excelsior as additional load in order to test the repair work.
To prevent shunting problems, Excelsior controls the train braking.
Excelsior passes the loco shed on the last service of the day.
The track maintenance train pulls forward towards the loco shed.
