Large Scale Model Rail Show

The invitation to take 'Ridgmont' to the Large Scale Exhibition has been confirmed, I will receive full details shortly. In the meantime I can confirm the following:

Venue Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, Fosse Way, Leamington Spa. CV31 1XN

Dates: 12/13 April 2008. Time 10am - 5pm both days.

The arrangements for the transportation and set-up of 'Ridgmont' are as follows:

We will be hiring a LWB Transit from Friday pm to Monday am, it will comfortably accommodate Ridgmont. There is room for 2 passengers and the driver (me), if you are going to be helping with the loading/unloading and would like a seat in the van please let me know ASAP.

Friday 11 April: 1.00pm Load 'Ridgmont' at Scout Hall. 3.30pm Arrive at Exhibition Centre, Set-Up 'Ridgmont'. 5.00pm Leave Exhibition Centre.

Saturday 12 April: 9.00am Complete set-up of layout. 10.00am Exhibition Opens. All Day Running by BAG Members. 5.00pm Exhibition Closes.

Sunday 13 April: 10.00am Exhibition Opens. All Day Running by BAG and W.Herts Members. 5.00pm Exhibition Closes, Breakdown layout and load van.

Monday 14 April: 9.30am Scout Hall, unload and Store Layout. 12 Noon Return hire van.

We still need volunteers to help with the following activities:

Friday pm: Loading/Unloading, need 6

Saturday am: Running Minimum of 4. PM Running Minimum of 4

Sunday am: Running Minimum of 4. PM Running Minimum of 4

Sunday close: Breakdown and Loading, need 6

Monday am: Unloading and Storing, need 6

This is a very large show covering all of the Larger Scales and has an excellent level of trade support. So please let’s have plenty of volunteers to help fly the 16mm Association flag and promote the Bedfordshire Area Group.

I do have some names of helpers already, but I will be looking to collect more on Sunday.

More BAG News

1.) I have arranged a group outing to Adrian Shooter's 'Beeches Light Railway', the home of Darj. B class No 19 and it's matching coaches. The cost of the visit is £20:00 per head, this includes a BBQ lunch. Please see me today if you wish to add your name to the list, or pay. Details:

The Beeches Light Railway, Sunday March 23rd. Arrival time: 12:00 - 12:30. There is ample car parking on site.

2.) Andrew Neal is exhibiting his new 'St Gennys 5' layout at the Northampton Model Railway Exhibition on Saturday March 1st. Volunteers / operators are required please.

3.) Please let me have your garden 'Open Day' dates for the 2008 BAG Diary.
