Large Scale Model Rail Show

I have now received full details for the above exhibition. The most important thing at the moment is to confirm to the exhibition organisers the names of the operators for both days. All named operators will be issued with a Pass which will get you into the show free, the Passes are dated so they will only give you access on the day you have booked to run.

16mm Items for Sale

I have been asked to help dispose of a number of 16mm items on behalf of a family of a 16mm enthusiast. I have yet to finish going through the items but hope to bring them to our meeting on the 2nd.

At first glance there is a quantity of 32mm Track, mostly Tenmille, hand built brass rail on wooden sleepers; some has been down in a garden so it’s nicely weathered.

There is also a quantity of the following, brass rail, wooden sleepers and plug in chairs all from Tenmille new and still in the original packaging. There are a few items of rolling stock in need of some TLC, also what appears to be 2 or 3 un-made Merlin Coach kits. As I say I have not yet to finish sorting through the boxes.

For those made of sterner stuff there is also a Tea Chest full of Track Work and Points just as it was lifted from the garden, it comes complete with earth, ballast and dirt.

The object is to raise as much cash as possible for the family from the sale of the above items.

Please note that the Beds Group diary entries in the February 16mm Today Exchange for April and July 2008 are incorrect. I apologise for this, but I had to send the text in by the end of December and things have moved on since then.

The Group visit to the Beeches Railway is now arranged and paid for, no further places are available. We have 19 in our party, plus Kevin who will be on the footplate of the Darj.

So far we have 4 member's Open Day events in our Diary for this season, please let me know if any other members wish to host a running session. I'm hoping for better weather this year, and that more of you turn up to take part!

Its S. Fed. insurance time again, for those with larger scale lines not covered by the 16mm Assn. If you wish to extend our group's public liability insurance to your operations, or to insure any of your locos, rolling stock or workshop equipment etc., see me during the meeting to discuss and/or complete the necessary paperwork.

And finally, thanks to Andrew for giving us an enjoyable day out at the Northampton MRC show yesterday with 'St. Gennys 5'.
